As the saying goes, appetite grows with eating. Anyone with a sweet tooth knows that’s especially true when treats are involved. In Candy Rush by Pragmatic Play the same goes for the multipliers, that can grow surprisingly quickly once the right combinations start landing.
Let’s see what’s hiding in the candy jar.
Overview
Candy Rush is played on a 7×7 cluster pays grid. Winning combinations are formed by landing 5 or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols are removed from the grid and replaced through a tumble mechanic, creating opportunities for additional wins on the same spin.
The game features low volatility, an RTP between 94.53% and 96.58% and a maximum win potential of 15,000x your bet.
Key Features
Multiplier Underlays
The game’s main feature revolves around special multiplier underlays that can randomly appear beneath symbols. These underlays can range in size from 2×2 all the way up to the entire 7×7 grid and start with a multiplier value of x2.
Whenever a winning cluster lands on top of an underlay, the associated multiplier doubles after each tumble, increasing up to x128 during the spin.
One of the more interesting aspects of the mechanic is that only part of a winning cluster needs to overlap with the underlay for the multiplier to apply.
At the end of the spin, the underlay disappears and its multiplier resets.
Free Spins & Super Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 scatter symbols awards 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 Free Spins or Super Free Spins.
During Free Spins, one multiplier underlay of a random size is guaranteed on every spin.
Super Free Spins take things a step further by guaranteeing a full 7×7 multiplier underlay on every spin.
Additional scatter symbols can retrigger the feature and award more free spins.
Special Bets & Feature Buy
Players can activate several optional settings:
Ante Bet (4x) increases the chance of triggering free spins by 10 times.
Super Spin 1 (10x) guarantees a multiplier underlay on every base game spin with values ranging from x2 to x8.
Super Spin 2 (100x) guarantees a full 7×7 underlay with multipliers between x2 and x32.
Feature Buy options include:
- Bonus Buy (100x)
- Super Free Spins 1 (300x)
- Super Free Spins 2 (750x)
The most enhanced version allows multipliers to persist between free spins rather than resetting after each spin.
Chanz Verdict
Candy Rush clearly takes inspiration from some of Pragmatic Play’s most successful candy-themed releases, but it approaches multiplier building in a slightly different way.
The action revolves around randomly appearing underlays that can suddenly affect large sections of the reels. This makes the game feel a little less predictable and creates moments where a single tumble sequence can become much more valuable than it first appears.
The mechanic itself is also easy to understand. Once an underlay appears, the objective is obvious: hope as many winning clusters as possible land inside it and the multiplier starts doubling higher and higher.
Visually, the game keeps things bright and colourful without becoming overwhelming. Combined with the simple feature set, it makes Candy Rush one of the more approachable entries in Pragmatic Play’s ever-growing collection of candy slots.
