Space pirates assemble! Play’n GOs newest release is a cartoonish sci-fi space adventure featuring the Captain Xeno and his pirate crew. The game plays on 5 reels with 4 rows in each, creating 1,024 winways for the default setup.

Overview

The main feature of the game is the symbol splitting mechanic, which can randomly trigger during the base game. When the Electric Shock feature is triggered, a random normal symbol (Wild and Scatter not included) will be selected to become a splitting symbol, meaning that all the instances of that symbol will be split into two on that spin. This naturally creates more winways for you as your rows are extended, and can generate up to 32,768 winlines in the basegame.

There are couple more randomly triggering features as well; the Emergency Wilds feature adds 1-5 Wild-symbols somewhere on your reels and guarantees you a win on that spin. Engine Recharge feature is another randomly triggering feature, which adds 2 Scatter-symbols on that spin giving you a better Chanz to land the third one which is needed to activate the free spin feature of the game.

The Free Spin feature is activated when you get minimum of 3 Scatter-symbols anywhere on your reels. This awards you with either 8, 10 or 12 free spins depending on the amount of Scatters you landed. Additionally the triggering Scatters and any additional Scatters you land during the free spins will be added to a meter above your reels, and when this meter is filled it gives you extra free spins and upgrades the symbol splitting mechanic so it splits in more parts:

11 Scatter symbols in the meter gives 4 extra spins and symbols split in 4

Once the meter is completely filled with 11 Scatters, you cannot land any additional Scatters during that free spin feature.

Chanz verdict

Overall we enjoyed this game a lot, it clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously and has kinda comical and cartoonish feel to it, creating very positive vibes and fun times. The symbol splitting mechanic is not exactly anything new as Play’n GO has lately used it in their other releases as well, but it really is a cool mechanic that can create very nice wins – so we don’t exactly mind seeing this feature used in more titles.
