Robert Virves and co-driver Jakko Viilo finished second in WRC2 at Rally Chile Biobío, adding another strong result to their 2026 season. The result also secured Virves the WRC2 Challenger title, while he remains at the top of the overall WRC2 standings.

Virves and Viilo delivered a consistent performance throughout Rally Chile and finished second in WRC2. They ended the event 53 seconds behind winner Yohan Rossel, while third-placed Gus Greensmith finished 34.2 seconds behind the Estonian crew.

Virves also recorded several WRC2 stage wins during the rally, including the fastest times on the final two stages on Sunday.

WRC2 Challenger Title

Second place in Chile was enough for Virves to secure the 2026 WRC2 Challenger title.

WRC2 Challenger is a separate category for WRC2 drivers who have not previously won a championship at this level. Introduced in 2023, it gives these drivers an additional title to compete for alongside the main WRC2 championship.

Virves Still Leads the WRC2 Championship

The main WRC2 title is still to be decided. After Rally Chile, Virves leads the championship with 117 points, strengthening his position at the top of the standings.

With the season approaching its final rounds, the Estonian remains in a strong position in the fight for the overall WRC2 title. Virves can score championship points at one more rally this season.

Congratulations on the strong result, Robert and Jakko! Let’s keep it going!
