NetEnt takes players on an interstellar journey with their latest release, Starburst Galaxy. Overview
Starburst Galaxy departs from traditional paylines and introduces a cluster pays mechanism on a 5×7 sized grid. Winning gem combinations are now formed by landing clusters of at least three matching symbols, which are then removed to allow new symbols to drop in with the so called Avalanche Wins mechanic. The mechanic repeats and new symbols will keep replacing the winning ones for as long as you keep getting new wins.
The Avalanche Wins feature also fills a Feature Generator Meter and for every five winning symbol clusters that you manage to land on a single Avalance Wins sequence, you will trigger the following modifiers to the game, significantly improving your Chanz of hitting a nice win. Here is the list of the features in their order of activating;
Destroy: Removes one randomly chosen symbol type from your grid.
Random Wilds: Turns 3-9 random symbols into Wild Symbols.
Expanding Wilds: Wild Symbols will grow to 1×3 sized symbol stack.
Line Transform: Transforms horizontal or vertical line of symbols into randomly chosen symbol.
Upgrade: Upgrades randomly chosen symbol or symbols into higher value symbol type.
Galaxy Star: Triggers the Galaxy Star feature.
When the Galaxy Star feature is activated, your grid size grows into 7×7 grid with one 3×3 sized Wild Block in a random position on your grid. This will of course guarantee a win since the Wild Block alone has more than 5 symbols, so you’re guaranteed some Avalanche Wins. Once the Avalance Wins ends, you get additional 4-8 Wilds added randomly to your grid. There is also a special Galaxy Meter within this feature that you can fill up to retrigger the Galaxy Star feature.
There is also a feature which is activated when there is three Scatter Symbols anywhere on your grid. This adds a 2×2 sized Wild Block to a random position in your grid and after the resulting Avalanche Win it will add 2-5 normal more Wilds somewhere on your grid randomly.
