Well, you wont find this holiday in your calendar, but it is a real event and day. It was first celebrated 2004 in USA and this is first time when it is noticed in Sweden.
Celebrations
Candystores around the world are offering free examples, like one in Lincoln, Nebraska called Licorice International who is serving today free samples of candy, coffee and tea. All with taste of licorice ofcourse.
In Sweden Gammelstads Knäck och Karamell store in Luleå and Lakritsroten in Stockholm are also having some celebrations, so just give them a visit today if you are nearby.

- 1 2/3 cups (240g) all purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup salted butter (170g), room temperature
- 3 egg whites
- 2 tsp anise extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
ICING
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tsp anise extract
- 3–4 tbsp water or milk
