Thunderkick is coming back with a 2nd version of its Beat the beast series. First one was ofcourse Kraken’s Lair. The Mighty Sphinx is taking completly another direction, and is not anywhere near the sea. It is located in the ancient Egypt, which is a popular theme currently with all game providers.

 

Overview

The Mighty Sphinx looks very similar to Kraken’s Lair. Well, ofcourse the theme in the background has changed and the symbols, but even the setup is the same with 5 reels, 3 rows and 9 paylines. Highest paying symbol is the Sphinx who will give you 250x your stake for five of a kind. Kraken is worth half of this.

Thunderkick has classified this slot as highly volatile, even higher than the Kraken’s Lair.

 

Features

 

Mystery feature can start randomly on the base game. When activated, up to 3 wilds/scatters are placed on any reels.

Free Spins feature starts when 3 Sphinx Emblems appear anywhere on the reels. It starts with 10 spins and on every spins 1-3 Emblems are place randomly on the reels. If you get 3 of them, 5 extra free spins are awarded. This will also activate the Wild Upgrade, and it activates one mid pay symbol to a wild symbol.

 

Chanz verdict

 

There is no major issues with this new release, but it is not anything magnificient either. It has quite high potential with it the max win of 4,444 the stake, but it is still lower than the 1st edition Kraken’s Lairs.  It has great entertaining potential with decent wins, so try this slot at chanz.com when it is released!
